Agendia (NL)
Agendia was founded in 2003 to commercialize MammaPrint® and develop similar gene expression profiling services in cancer diagnostics. The company is located in Amsterdam and has an ISO-certified diagnostic lab for patient testing and currently employs over 50 people in research, diagnostic testing and marketing. Agendia has its roots in the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam. MammaPrint® has been the first microarray based clinical diagnostic test world wide to be marketed for oncology and now is the first IVDMIA being approved by the FDA under new (draft) US regulation. FDA further approved the room temperature shipment procedure for fresh tissue (RNAretain). MammaPrint is sold in many countries and the company is currently working on the introduction in the US. Its 2nd product, CupPrint®, is a tool to identify the origin of the primary tumor in patients with a metastasis which is sold in Europe. Agendia recently presented a new Colorectal prognostic profile and has numerous new gene expression profiles in its pipeline to answer additional clinically relevant questions which were and are being developped through own research, research collaborations and strategic alliances with academia, clinical trial groups and pharma companies.

Bernhard Sixt has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industry. He held several international (Germany, Norway, UK) senior positions in product management and global marketing. In his most recent position, he was Director Global Strategic Marketing Oncology at Amersham, the world market leader in medical diagnostics.
