Pharming Group NV is a biotech company based in Leiden, The Netherlands. The company has facilities in the Netherlands and the USA and employs approximately ninety professionals, of which more than eighty percent in R&D and Operations.

Pharming focuses on the development of innovative pharmaceutical products based on its technologies in the field of transgenics and DNA-repair. Pharming has two products in late stage development - Rhucin® for acute attacks of Hereditary Angioedema and human lactoferrin for use in functional foods. The advanced technologies of the Company include innovative platforms for the production of protein therapeutics and technology and processes for the purification and formulation of these products. Via its collaboration with NovaThera, Pharming has access to tissue repair technology and via its subsidiairy DNage to products and technology in the field of ageing diseases related to DNA damage and repair.

Rein Strijker, PhD, Chief Commercial Officer

Mr. Strijker is responsible for commercial development, corporate communication and investor relations. He was CEO of DNage, a company focusing on age related disorders and acquired by Pharming in 2006. Prior to DNage, Mr. Strijker has held management and R&D positions at Pharming and Genentech Inc. In addition, he is a member of the board of Biofarmind, the Dutch foundation of pharmaceutical biotechnology. Mr. Strijker received his PhD at the State University of Groningen.
